ACTIVE VOLCANO HIKE

Volcan Ilamatepec, the tallest of El Salvador’s 21 volcanoes at 7,850 feet, overlooks Lago Coatepeque. Its summit offers breathtaking views of the sulfuring caldera baths. A guided hike takes around 1.5 hours up and an hour back to camp.
